FAQs

How often will the modules be run?

Modules 1 annually or bi-annually.
Module 2/3 runs twice a year.
Module 4 is run annually.
Module 5-9 are run in rotation every two or three years.

Are courses open only to those on the pathway?

No. All Modules will be open to any osteopath who fulfils the entry criteria, whether or not they are registered on the pathway. For entry requirement see entry levels.  Satisfactory assignments after stage 2 modules are required from all students who wish to become Members of the Sutherland Cranial College (MSCC).

How long will the pathway take to complete?

This depends very much on your own needs, and the speed at which you wish to proceed.  The Pathway involves a minimum of 32 taught days, depending on the entry level, and there is no maximum since modules can be repeated. Repeating modules can be beneficial since changes in Faculty, teaching content and current research provides a challenging backdrop to Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.
The aim of the SCC is that the pathway should be flexible enough to harmonise with varying styles of learning, individual growth and development in the cranial field.

What happens after you achieve membership of the SCC?

The SCC encourages osteopaths who have achieved membership to continue on their own learning pathway. This will vary according to the individual, and may include:

·    Continued learning at an advanced level on post-pathway courses.

·    Encouragement and possible funding to undertake much needed research in Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.

·    Opportunities for joining the teaching faculty. This can be a challenging and rewarding way of developing your learning and skill.

Members' names are published in the Directory of Members list which can be used for referral purposes and are also entered on the SCC Website.
